This is the work—supporting children where help is needed most.
Uganda
In 2023, Kim and her family traveled to Uganda to trek and see the gorillas. What she didn’t expect was that the trip would lead to something much more meaningful.

During her visit, Kim was introduced to a women’s center called Ride 4 A Woman, founded and run by Evelyne Rubalema. The organization supports women and families in Uganda by providing skills training, education, and resources to help them build sustainable, independent lives.

This connection reflects the heart of One Little World—supporting not just individual children, but the communities and caregivers surrounding them.

It was there that Kim met two young sisters, Evelyne and Miriam. She learned that in order for the girls to attend school, they each needed a sponsor. Kim immediately said yes.

Her support helps cover their boarding school tuition, uniforms, and school supplies. Since then, she has received regular updates, including photos, report cards, and handwritten notes from the girls.

While trekking, Kim and her family met Caleb, who helped guide them on their hike. Caleb works picking tea leaves and assists with treks when he can.

Through him, Kim learned about his daughter, Linate, who also needed support for school.
Once again, Kim stepped in to help.

Since then, Kim and Caleb have built a meaningful friendship, and he regularly shares updates about Linate—an ongoing reminder of the direct impact of this work.

During her time in Uganda, Kim was also introduced to Mityana Charity, an organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and elderly women—often referred to as “grandmothers”—through education, care, and community-based support.

Through this connection, Kim began sponsoring a young girl, Nakigozi Agnes, as well as a grandmother, Nakayiza Teo.
When Kim started One Little World, she had no idea the work would extend to Uganda.
This is what One Little World is built on—connection, trust, and the willingness to help, wherever the need appears.
